The Senior Manager, Organizational Development and Training will play a critical role on a growing and geographically dispersed team, building and executing on impactful learning programs to help The Wine Group accelerate its future growth and innovation. The successful candidate must have strong skills and experience in the design, development and implementation of learning, talent management and change management initiatives and programs utilizing tools and practices proven to be successful. The Senior Manager, Org Development and Training, working closely with the Talent Management & Development Team, will create and facilitate learning programs for TWG’s employees.


  • Support the integration of the TWG Talent Management framework across the company. Partnering with TWG leaders to identify and build talent succession plans.
  • Design, develop and deliver high-impact learning programs and improve existing programs that set the tone for what to expect from The Wine Group employee experience across all functions and levels of the organization;
  • Assess and identify development opportunities and training needs and determine priorities across the employees’ lifecycle, from on-boarding to promotions and beyond through collaboration with key stakeholders, including HR Business Partners;
  • Create standardized metrics and evaluation processes across learning programs to ensure data driven approach when evaluating and addressing learning needs;


  • Working closely with the Senior Director, Talent Management and Development, create strategies, design processes and develop talent management practices including talent review, talent assessment, succession planning, employee development and career development;
  • Design learning and development curriculum ranging across the entire leader lifespan (newly promoted, tenured, managers of managers, etc.…) that reinforces the TWG Values and drives a culture of inclusion and engagement;
  • Help to continue the development and practice of the TWG performance management program;
  • Determine and analyze relevant data to evaluate effectiveness of training programs including on-the-job application of skills learned, employee engagement; revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods;
  • Develop the company’s Culture/Employee Engagement Survey strategy and process;
  • Own the reporting and communication of training performance metrics to all the relevant stakeholders;
  • Stay current on developments, innovations and best-practices in corporate training and education in and out of the wine industry so that TWG’s training remains highly effective, relevant, efficient, cost-effective and practical.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or Organizational Development or similar
  • Minimum 8 years' combined work experience in human resources, learning & development, content development and delivery, workshop facilitation, organizational development and change management
  • Understands adult learning theory and instructional design concepts; can apply concepts for maximum audience engagement and effectiveness
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills;
  • Ability to use appropriate communication style for various levels across the organization;
  • Excellent project management skills including the ability to effectively and successfully manage competing priorities simultaneously;
  • Excellent facilitation skills and the ability to manage group dynamics;
  • Strong change management experience, (e.g. change planning, communications, workshop development, stakeholder management);
  • Strong interpersonal skills; Leads by example; Enjoys working with others in a collaborative, social environment; Effective at building and maintaining strong relationships;
  • Has a passion for excellence; attention to detail is critical to success;
  • Can “roll up sleeves” and design/contribute learning programs as needed; and
  • HR Business Partnership Experience a plus.


  • Travel is required, mostly in Central and Northern California; will need to work at any of TWG's locations
  • Both office and winery production environment
  • Extensive computer work
  • Numerous projects in progress at any given time
  • Comply with company safety regulations
